The day to day operations at FWIF are managed by Conor Quinn, who has 13+ years experience in establishing and conducting small bird monitoring projects. In consultation with our Reporting Manager, Kirsten Campbell, B.Sc, M.Sc (Hons), Conor also writes our reports. Conor has 20+ years experience writing internationally published research reports and associated material.
We also have five sub-contractors we can call upon for big projects, as and when required.
Consideration of Health and Safety is a very important element in all the work we conduct, especially in the field. We have a full and comprehensive Health and Safety Plan that is a living document and updated regularly with input from clients and staff members. We are preferred suppliers for the Bay of Plenty Regional Council (BOPRC) and adhere to their stringent Health and Safety requirements.
We approach each bird monitoring project individually, but we have refined our methodologies over the years and have one particular methodology that has become best practice for the projects conducted for BOPRC. This methodology has produced the most robust results within realistic budgets at a variety of monitoring sites over a combined 30+ years of annual monitoring. Please get in contact if you would like to know more or how we may be able help your organisation establish a bird monitoring project. We would also be happy to share one of our bird monitoring reports to give you a better understanding of an entire bird monitoring project life cycle.
